AIIDE 2020

The 16th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE-20) was held October 19-23, 2020 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, MA, USA online. Sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), AIIDE brings together researchers and practitioners who work in AI for entertainment, including game designers, creative technologists, media artists, and academic and industrial AI researchers. This year, AIIDE especially encourages submissions to respond to the theme of “Foundations for Shared Progress”.

AIJ AIIDE Global Participation Fellowships: A grant from the Artificial Intelligence Journal (AIJ) editorial board has made it possible for the 16th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE) to offer fellowships to increase global participation and outreach! Fellowship recipients will receive registration subsidies to reduce or eliminate costs associated with attending AIIDE 2020. Please apply here: https://forms.gle/N1T1S7wja1JQE28f9

Deadline Extended: When we planned that AIIDE's paper deadlines would not be extended, we did so expecting a world that differs from the difficult situations that many of our authors are presently facing. To offer our support, we are extending AIIDE's deadline for Papers, Demos, and Playable Experiences by one week, to June 12.

Note to Reviewers: The reviewing schedule will change in one way with the extended deadline - the Review Period will start one work day later, on Monday, June 15. Bidding will happen as scheduled (June 6-9) based on the abstracts of the papers that have been submitted, and review assignments will be finalized after the June 12 deadline has passed.

Online Conference: Due to COVID-19, the organizing committee has decided that AIIDE'20 will be held online. The conference dates remain the same, as shown below. As usual, accepted papers will be published by AAAI and at least one of the authors must register and attend the conference to present their work.
