Project and Team Management Structure

Our project costs are almost solely in direct support of graduate student training. The project is ambitious and large enough that a research associate with part-time project management responsibilities could be justified. Nevertheless, the researchers on the grant work well together and feel that we can effectively share project management responsibilities across the subprojects and over time without requiring the addition $60K/year for full-time RA support. Funding of $30K already received from Teledyne-Farris Engineering will be used in year 1 to hire part-time RA support to assist in getting the project launched. Funding for RA support in years 2 and 3 will be considered, if it can be provided by TF Engineering and if it is deemed necessary. Sorenson will act as overall lead responsible for reporting. Individual subprojects with associated milestones have been worked out according to the following initial plan.
