Lecture notes to accompany cmput 306

Notes are available in html and pdf from the left sidebar on the course home page . The notes for this years course are being updated and posted throughout the course. Should you wish to read ahead, or get a look at what's to come in not yet posted lectures look at prior years notes.

Html notes are best viewed with netscape (explorer for some reason gets the formatting wrong despite the notes were generated by powerpoint...). Viewing on a Linux computer there should normally not be a problem with fonts.

Should you wish to view and edit mathematical formulas on a windows computer you may have to download additional math fonts, and have a better equation editor available. (If many of the math formulas display with obviously incorrect characters you have a font problem). A convenient solution to both the font and equation editor problem can be had using Equation magic. The "lite" version is free and is perfectly adequate for any needs you might have in this course.
