Islam A. Ali

PhD Student, Computing Science



     
I am a PhD Student at the Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta. I am affiliated with the Robotics\Vision Lab and I work under the supervision of Prof. Hong Zhang. I received my B.Sc. (with honors) and M.Sc. in Computer Engineering both from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2013 and 2018 respectively. From 2013 till 2018, I held various senior technical positions at Si-Ware Systems, Egypt, in the Digital ASIC Group and the Systems Engineering Group, where I worked on and led the development of many high-end projects. My current research interests include visual navigation, resilient visual-inertial odometry, robotics, and real-time autonomous systems.
