SARA'2002 sessions will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. on August 2 and end at approximately 1 p.m. on August 4.

Rooms in SARA's block booking at the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge are reserved for the nights of August 1, 2 and 3 only.
Attendees who wish to arrive before August 1 or depart after August 4 are advised to contact the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge as soon as possible since this is peak tourism season in an area with very limited hotel space. If extra nights are available, there is no guarantee you will be given the group rate for those nights that SARA was given for the nights of August 1, 2, and 3.

SARA will provide two forms of transportation to the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge on August 1.

You must indicate which of these you want to use when you register.

• A coach from the AAAI site in Edmonton.
  A light mid-afternoon meal (sandwiches, desserts, fruits) will be provided on the coach.
  IMPORTANT NOTE: This coach will probably depart before the end of the last AAAI session in order to reach Kananaskis in time for supper.

• A shuttle from the Calgary International airport to Kananaskis Village.
  This will run approximately once every four hours. The exact timing will be determined by the flight arrival times of the people who request this service when they register.

If you wish to rent a car, the drive to Kananaskis Village is not difficult. From Calgary International airport the drive takes about 90 minutes. From Edmonton it takes about 5 hours.

On August 4, SARA will run a shuttle from Kananaskis Village to the Calgary International airport. This will run approximately once every four hours. The exact timing will be determined by the flight departure times of the people who request this service when they register. It is expected there will be four runs: early morning, mid-morning (at coffee break time), immediately after lunch, and late afternoon -- but these details are not finalized yet.

If you wish to use this shuttle service you must indicate so when you register, and send Robert Holte (holte@cs.ualberta.ca) your departure time when it is known.
