I am currently working as a research associate in Dr. Alan Wilman's group in the Biomedical Engineering Department at University of Alberta. I am also part of the Vision and Robotics Research Group in the Computing Science Department.

My areas of expertise are centered around imaging and computer vision, with particular interest in mathematical models for medical image processing. I have experience and interest in methods for medical image segmentation, registration, noise reduction, as well as modern techniques for Diffusion Tensor Image processing. Besides medical imaging, I have good knowledge of most computer vision aspects like dynamic vision (tracking), 3D modeling from uncalibrated images and video (reconstruction of geometry and appearance from images).

Before, I was a PIMS postdoctoral fellow jointly supervised by John Bowman from The Mathematics Department and Martin Jagersand from Computer Science Department at University of Alberta. I spent my first postdoctoral years in the MOVI team, at INRIA Rhone-Alpes working with Peter Sturm. Between 1998 and 2003 I was a graduate student at the University of Alberta where I finished my PhD.
