Proteome Analyst FAQ

If you are having problems with any of the Proteome Analyst servers and do not find help here please e-mail bioinfo@cs.ualberta.ca with your question. We'd love to hear from you!

Q: When Downloading a .csv (Comma Separated Values) file from the Subcellular Localization Server Internet Explorer strips off the newlines. How can I fix this?
A: Select "source" from the "view" menu and then save the file that appears.

Q: When using the Proteome Analyst Beta Server my browser times out while loading a large proteome for analysis, or while loading a large training set.
A: Although the browser says it timed out PA is still working to load your file. Wait a few minutes and then try your analysis (or classifier training) again, your proteome should appear in the drop down box of previously uploaded data.

Q: When using the Proteome Analyst Beta Server or Subcellular Localization Server my browser times out while trying to view a PA CardSet for a large Proteome.
A: We are currently working on a fix for this problem. In the meantime, if you are experiencing this problem on the Subcellular Localization Server we suggest you download a .csv (Comma Separated Values) file of your results and view them using a spreadsheet program.
