Subject: paper 1 bidding process By this point, you should have all received an email. These emails would have gone to your CS account. You have until Friday at *6pm* to submit your bids. The email contained instructions on how to get a password, and where to login. There is also a link from the Paper 1 page on the 603 website. Once you login, you might have to select "Track Page - ______". You should then see a series of links. Visit them all to see what they look like, but the one I am interested in is "Submission Selection Form". On that page, you will see a list of submissions (by title). You can view the abstracts of each paper (either individually, or all on one page by clicking the link at the top). Based on the information in the title and the abstract, select one of the options for each paper: - I want to review this submission. - I'm qualified to review the submission. - I do not want to review this submission. - I have a conflict of interest. The first, second, and third options listed above set, in order, the most likely, less likely, and least likely you will end up reviewing that paper. The fourth is for conflicts of interest. Attempting to trick the system into giving you what you want could easily result in pain. The best bet is to honestly fill out the form. If you see the title of your own paper while bidding, please contact me as it means I have made some sort of terrible mistake. Or you have. "Bid" and "bidding" in this context simply means identifying which papers you would like to review, and which you would not. If *everyone* in a given track submits their bids early, your track can get a head start on reviewing! I will start assigning papers to reviewers as soon as I see all of the bids are in. Cheers, -Mike
