You will recall that Paper 1 is to be submitted electronically to our conference website, without any identifying information, by 2:30pm on October 10th. (Only 8 days away - I can feel the excitement in the air!) *In addition* to that submission, you will also be submitting an identical paper copy *with* identifying information. This is for the writing TA to use when marking. Add your name and affiliation to the paper (as shown in the Paper 1 spec), print it out, and deposit it in the CMPUT 603 assignment submission box. (You will find this box on the first floor of the CSC, opposite room 1-45). The deadline for this submission is 2:55:00pm (14:55:00). In other news, if you encounter technical questions now or any time during your degree (e.g., "how do I do ____ in latex?"), the CSTech mailing list is a good place to ask. Subscription information is at: http://www.mailman.srv.ualberta.ca/mailman/listinfo/cstech The list is low-traffic and generally helpful. Of course, Google remains an excellent resource, and I am always available to help with c603 content-related questions. One final note. The data sets we have asked you to use are mostly from the UCI Machine Learning Repository. Their website makes requests regarding citation and acknowledgement that you should honour. The comments in the individual data files may ask for additional citations or acknowledgements. Cheers, -Mike
