PAPER SUBMISSION PAGE

IEEE Copyright Form

Authors of an accepted ROBIO paper must submit an IEEE copyright form before the paper can be published in ROBIO Proceedings. This form is available in both PDF and MS-Word. Authors should download this form, complete it, and then either scan and email the form to robio06@cs.ualberta.ca or fax it to +1-780-492-3976, before November 15, 2006.

Download the IEEE copyright form in PDF or MS-Word.

Final Version Submission

If your paper has been accepted by ROBIO 2006, please read reviewers' comments and the following instructions carefully in the preparation of your paper for final submission to ROBIO 2006, before October 9, 2006. Note that, as we indicated in the acceptance letter, we need from you three files:

  • Your manuscript in Adobe PDF
  • IEEE PDF eXpress confirmation email of your paper's Xplore compliance, and
  • A 50-word abstract of your paper in plain text.

Please follow this link to go to the actual final submission page.

Paper Format Requirements

Papers can be prepared in either LaTex or MS Word, for which we have provided templates (see the links below). However, all submissions must be in the PDF format. Papers must be written in English. Six (6) camera-ready pages, including figures, are allowed for each paper. Up to two (2) additional pages are allowed at extra charge.

Papers should follow to the IEEE double-column format for ROBIO. The first page of the paper, centered on the top below the top margin, should include the paper title, the authors' names and their affiliations, and an abstract. Templates are available below:

  • IEEE paper template for MS Word
  • IEEE paper template for LaTeX
  • Sample paper in PDF

Do not put page numbers, headers, or footers on your papers.

IEEE is very strict about the requirements for converting application files or PostScript files to full-text PDF for inclusion in IEEE Xplore. ROBIO 2006 provides a PDF eXpress site for its authors to check PDF Xplore compliance and/or obtain Xplore-compatible files through its Source File Conversion function. Please visit the ROBIO's PDF eXpress page for details on how to make use of this tool. Alternatively, if you choose to convert PDF yourself, please follow the detailed instructions in IEEE PDF File Preparation Guide for IEEE Xplore that describes the essential steps in distilling PDFs with Acrobat that meet the IEEE requirements. The most important issue that every author shall pay attention to is to make sure that all the fonts used in your papers are EMBEDDED and SUBSETTED, especially for papers from Asia and Europe. Papers that are IEEE Xplore PDF compliant in the final submission may be rejected.
