I am a member of Advanced Man-Machine Interface Laboratory (AMMI) at the CS department at the University of Alberta. My research lies in the area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In particular, I am interested in novel input techniques and haptic user interfaces. My work is under the supervision of Dr. Pierre Boulanger and Dr. Pourang Irani (University of Manitoba).

Apr 28, 2013: I am attending CHI'13 in Paris.

Apr 25, 2013: Check out our CHI'13 paper "High-Precision Pointing on Large Wall Displaysusing Small Handheld Devices". This work was collaborated with Mathieu Nancel, Olivier Chapuis, Emmanuel Pietriga, Pourang Irani, and Michel Beaudouin-Lafon.

Oct 7, 2012: I am attending UIST'12 in Cambridge, MA, and will present our Magic Finger paper.

July 7, 2012: Our paper "Magic Finger: Always-AvailableInput through Finger Instrumentation" was accepted for publication at UIST'12 in Cambridge, MA.

June 1, 2012: Started my intern at MSRA under the supervision of Dr. Xiang Cao.

May 18, 2012: Hit the road. Toronto-Winnipeg-Calgary-Edmonton: 3700Km / 5 days of driving.

May 8, 2012: Our paper "Experimental Evaluation of Different Mode Switching Techniques in Pen-based Handheld Devices" was accepted for publication at APCHI'12 in Matsue, Japan.

May 6, 2012: I am attending CHI'12 in Austin, TX. I will present our A-coord input paper on behalf of Khalad Hasan. This was a long-term project that we have worked on since 2010.

Apr 27, 2012: Our paper "How to Position the Cursor? An Exploration of Absolute and Relative Cursor Positioning for Back-of-Device Input" was accepted for publication at MobileHCI'12 in San Francisco.

Dec 28, 2011: Driving to Toronto (3400km) for another internship at Autodesk Research with Dr. Tovi Grossman and Dr. George Fitzmaurice.

Dec 25, 2011:  We got 2 full papers conditionally accepted for publication at CHI'12 in Austin.

Sep 28, 2011:  Back to Edmonton after a 3-month stay in Winnipeg.

May 5, 2011: I will present our TouchCuts&TouchZoom paper next week at CHI'11 in Vancouver.

May 1, 2011: I am back from a 3-month visit in the HCI lab at the University of Manitoba.
