Professor Schlegel holds the iCORE Chair in Digital Communications at
the Department of Computing Science, University of Alberta. His primary
research interests and expertise are:
- Multiuser Communications, Multiuser Detection, and Iterative Multiuser Receivers
- Matrix Channels such as MIMO Channels, Cross-Interference Channels, and Efficient Communications Signal Processing
- Wireless Networking, Random Access Protocols, Ad Hoc Networking, MAC-PHY otimization, Multiple Packet Detection Receivers
- Implemenation of Communications Systems, Low-Power VLSI Implemenations, Low-Power Wireless Tranceivers and Applications.
- Error Control Theory and Applications, Implementations of Error Control Systems.
