The Canadian landscape has a way of inspiring admiration and awe.
A long drive by yourself from Victoria to Toronto tends to do that.
In 1994, photography became a serious hobby of mine, and I hoped
to capture a bit of that admiration.
For landscapes, I use color slide film almost exclusively.
It's important to fully control the result,
learn film characteristics and exposure adjustments,
and to make mistakes.
At various times, I've used Kodachrome,
Ektachrome Elite,
and Fujichrome Velvia and Provia.
For landscapes, I also try to be critical and edit ruthlessly.
I've taken over 3000 frames since 1994.
Most are fine technically, but very few are true "keepers".
At some point, I think it's better to buy more film than
invest in more expensive equipment.
A fancy lens does not make a photographer!
