Rod Metric Time was adapted and brought to life by the worthy student of Rod Metric Time, Geoff Baskwill. In his conversion from normal time to Rod Metric Time to Rod Standard TIME (RST), Baskwill writes:
* BASIS OF RST: * Rod Standard Time is based on the following principal definitions: * 1 second RST = 1 second * 1 minute RST = 100 seconds RST * 1 hour RST = 100 minutes RST * 1 day RST = 10 hours RST * 1 week RST = 10 days RST * 1 month RST = 10 weeks RST * 1 year RST = 10 months RST = 100 Mseconds * * Based on these assumptions, and the so-called "normal" assumptions * of the definitions of "minute", "hour", "day", and so on, one Rod * is approximately equivalent to pi "normal" years. It's so close, in * fact, that we might as well consider them equivalent. SO, since * a circle is 2*pi*R (which we all know stands for Rods) around, and * is also 360 degrees around, and degrees are made of minutes and seconds, * we could restructure the circle more appropriately (considering that * it is not 360*60*60 seconds around, but more accurately 100 Mseconds) if * we had more time. Then, once we had degrees redefined properly, we * would know what the temperature was. But I digress. * * Time 0 is based not at 00:00:00 Jan. 1, 1970 GMT, but at * 02:38:00 Aug. 18, 1958 MST (The date of Creation). All times * before Time 0 are nonexistent, and anyone claiming to know anything * about these so-called "negative times" is either insane or attempting * to corrupt your mind. There was no time before Rod. Period. * * Beware the evil teachings of the AntiRod, as thou shalt surely be * damned to the fiery depths of bureaucratic Hell if thou dost succumb. * * For further information, contact the First Prophet of Rodianity, * Geoff Baskwill (geoff@cs.ualberta.ca). Oh, and please send money, * as we need your help to spread the Word of Rod.
