I am a postdoc at the University of Alberta working with Rich Sutton.
My research interests are in artificial intelligence, focusing on
methods for robots and other devices to sense, reason, act and learn
in the physical world. I am interested in foundational questions
(how can a robot use sensorimotor experience to construct expressive and useful representations of the world) and in their applications (how can
smartphone remind an Alzheimer's patient of the next step in their
daily routine). Previously, I was a member of Ben Kuipers'
intelligent robotics group at UT Austin for my PhD, and I held a
postdoc with Henry Kautz at the University of Rochester.
