I am a postdoc at the University of Alberta working with Rich Sutton.
My research interests are in artificial intelligence, focusing on
methods for robots and other devices to sense, reason, act and learn
in the physical world. This research covers both foundational aspects
(how can an artificial agent build rich and useful representations of
the human world from sensorimotor experience) and applied aspects (how
can smartphone remind an Alzheimer's patient of the next step in their
daily routine). Previously, I was a member of Ben Kuipers'
intelligent robotics group at UT Austin for my PhD, and I held a
postdoc with Henry Kautz at the University of Rochester.
