Checker Positions by Leading Rank
The links below display the number of checker positions sorted by leading checker rank for 1 to 24 pieces on the board. Each entry has the following format:
[nbk][nwk][nbc][nwc].[rbc][rwc]: # of positions
where nbk, nwk nbc, and nwc represent the total number of black kings, white kings, black checkers, and white checkers on the board. rbc and rwc represent the rank of the leading black and white checker. The checker rank notation uses the numbers 0 to 7, relative to each color. Note there are no checkers on rank 7 for either side because they are promoted to kings. For output purposes, nbk, nwk nbc, and nwc are displayed in hexadecimal.
