A byte about my research self
I am PhD Student in Statistical
Machine Learning at the Department
of Computing Science of the University
of Alberta, under the supervision of Csaba
Szepesvári.Short career bio
In 2009 I became a BSc in Computing Science by the Federal
University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), then
I was enrolled for a term in the MSc of Informatics program at the
Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio),
under the supervision of Ruy
Luiz Milidiú.From September 2009 until September 2011, I was a MSc student at the University of Alberta (UofA) under the supervision of Csaba Szepesvári. I graduated and from them to the present I have been a PhD student at the UofA with Csaba.
Research interests
I am more strongly interested in classification as well as in inverse problems, and in general I am considering the relationship these two topics have with reinforcement learning.
The current classification problem at hand is cost-sensitive multiclass classification, and the inverse problems we have been dealing with are linear.
